Provider: Edenbrook Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as "DealGauge" ("Edenbrook," "DealGauge," "we," "us," or "our").

1. About This Notice

This Cookie Notice explains how DealGauge uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website and in the Service. It supplements the DealGauge Privacy Policy, which describes the broader categories of information we collect and how we use them. Defined terms used here and not defined have the meaning set out in the DealGauge Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

This Notice applies in two distinct layers, and the cookie practices in each layer are different:

  • The marketing website at https://dealgauge.ai, including the homepage, landing pages, blog (where applicable), demo and trial signup pages, and other pre-login content. We use a full range of cookies on these pages, including advertising and analytics cookies.
  • The Service itself — the logged-in DealGauge application where Firm Customers, Analyst Users, and Business Owner Sub-Users work on engagements. Inside the Service, we use only strictly necessary and functional cookies. We do not run advertising or third-party marketing trackers inside the logged-in Service.

We make this distinction because Engagement Data and other sensitive financial information uploaded to the Service should not be visible to third-party advertising networks.

2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website operators. We use the term "cookies" in this Notice to include cookies and analogous technologies (such as web pixels, web beacons, local storage, session storage, and software-development-kit identifiers) that are similar in function.

Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose technology we use (third-party cookies). Cookies may last only for the duration of a single session (session cookies) or persist across sessions for a defined period (persistent cookies).

3. Categories of Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

We use four broad categories of cookies and similar technologies. Whether a particular cookie is loaded depends on the layer (marketing site or Service), your jurisdiction, and your cookie-preference choices.

A. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the website or Service to function. They support core operations such as authentication, session management, security, load balancing, and the cookie consent mechanism itself. Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent under applicable privacy laws.

Examples: session cookies that keep you signed in after login; CSRF (cross-site request forgery) tokens that protect form submissions; cookies that store your cookie-consent choice.

B. Functional and Preference Cookies

These cookies remember choices you have made (such as language, region, time zone, or interface preferences) to provide a more personalized experience. They are not required for the Service to function but improve usability.

Examples: cookies that remember your preferred display settings or your last-used filters; cookies that track which sections of the Service you have seen.

C. Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors and users interact with our website and (where applicable) the Service. We use this information to measure traffic, identify defects, improve features, and evaluate performance.

Examples: Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) on the marketing website. We may use product-analytics tools inside the Service to measure feature usage at an aggregate level; where we do so, we do not share Engagement Data with analytics providers.

D. Advertising and Marketing Cookies — Marketing Website Only

These cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, to support remarketing to visitors who have previously engaged with our content, and to help our advertising partners deliver and measure ads on their platforms. They are set only on our marketing website and pre-login pages — not inside the Service.

Examples: the Meta Pixel (which sets cookies such as _fbp), the LinkedIn Insight Tag (which sets cookies such as bcookie, lidc, and li_gc), Google Ads conversion-tracking cookies (such as _gcl_au), and similar cookies set by other advertising platforms we may use.

4. Where Cookies Are Used

Marketing Website (dealgauge.ai and related pages)

The marketing website uses all four cookie categories. When you first visit, we present a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences by category. Your choice is saved in a cookie so we do not have to ask again on every visit.

The Service (logged-in DealGauge application)

Inside the Service, we use only strictly necessary and functional cookies. We do not run advertising trackers (such as the Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or Google Ads conversion tags) inside the logged-in Service. We may use first-party analytics for product improvement at an aggregate level, but Engagement Data is not shared with analytics providers.

Business Owner Sub-User Portals Portal pages used by Business Owner Sub-Users (such as the addbacks portal and discovery questionnaire) are part of the Service and follow the Service's cookie practices — strictly necessary and functional only. We do not place advertising trackers on these portal pages.

5. Third-Party Cookies and Partners

The third-party providers whose cookies and similar technologies we may load on our marketing website include:

  • Meta (Facebook) — Meta Pixel and Conversion API, used to measure the effectiveness of advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to support remarketing audiences.
  • LinkedIn — LinkedIn Insight Tag, used to measure the effectiveness of LinkedIn advertising and to support remarketing audiences.
  • Google — Google Ads conversion-tracking and remarketing tags, and Google Analytics.
  • Additional advertising platforms — we may use other advertising or marketing-measurement platforms from time to time. Our current list of third-party advertising partners will reflect our active use; please refer to the Subprocessor List on the DealGauge website for the most current information.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and its own cookie practices. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies if you want to understand more about how they process information they collect through our website.

To the extent that information sharing with these advertising partners — particularly for cross-context behavioral advertising — constitutes a "sale" or "share" of personal information under applicable U.S. state privacy laws (such as the CCPA's expanded definition of "share"), you may opt out using the mechanisms described in Section 6.

6. Your Choices

A. The Cookie Consent Banner

On your first visit to our marketing website (and at intervals thereafter), we present a cookie consent banner that allows you to:

  • Accept all cookies;
  • Reject non-essential cookies (we will still use strictly necessary cookies, which do not require consent); or
  • Manage your preferences by category (accepting or rejecting analytics, advertising, and functional cookies independently).

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by returning to the cookie preferences link at the footer of our website.

B. Global Privacy Control and Other Opt-Out Signals

We honor recognized opt-out preference signals where applicable state privacy law treats them as valid opt-outs. In particular, we recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of the "sale" and "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA and analogous laws. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we will treat that as an opt-out without requiring a separate request.

C. Browser-Level Cookie Controls

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:

  • Block all cookies, or block cookies from specific sites;
  • Delete cookies that have already been stored;
  • Set your browser to notify you when a website tries to set a cookie;
  • Enable private browsing or incognito modes that limit cookie persistence.

Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may impair the operation of our website and the Service. Blocking functional, analytics, or advertising cookies will not impair core functionality but may affect personalization, measurement, or your ad experience on third-party platforms.

D. Direct Opt-Outs at Advertising Partners

You can also opt out of advertising and measurement directly with the advertising partners we use:

  • Meta — manage advertising preferences and opt out through your Facebook or Instagram account settings or at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences.
  • LinkedIn — manage advertising preferences at https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/advertising.
  • Google — manage advertising preferences at https://adssettings.google.com. Industry-wide opt-out mechanisms are also available through the Network Advertising Initiative (https://optout.networkadvertising.org) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (https://optout.aboutads.info).

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no industry-standard interpretation of DNT, we do not respond to DNT signals. Where your browser sends a GPC signal, however, we treat that signal as an opt-out for the categories described in Section 6.B.

8. Children

Our website and the Service are not directed to children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly use cookies to collect personal information from children under 18. If you become aware that a child under 18 has provided information through our website or the Service, please contact us at Support@dealgauge.ai.

9. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our cookie practices, the technologies we use, and applicable legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Notice and, where reasonably practicable, notify you through the cookie consent banner, by email, or by an in-Service notification. We encourage you to review this Notice periodically.
